Virj turned 2 three months ago on Nov 20. It has been a whirlpool of events since then including our trip to India and I haven’t had the time to post pictures from his birthday or talk about the party. His birthday being on a weekday, we decided to throw the party on the weekend and celebrate the actual day at his Playgroup and at home. That week I volunteered to organize the Friday Playgroup, a regular phenomenon of the San Bruno Mothers Club and celebrate his birthday there with cupcakes and light snacks. It was held at a local frozen yogurt store in San Bruno downtown called Sweet Connections, which has a lovely playroom for the kids. Here are some pictures from there and Virj enjoying his birthday ritual in the evening at home!
As for the party, we initially thought of keeping it small and low key because of our big trip within the next few days. We organized it at home and went with the Disney Cars theme, as Virj absolutely LOVES anything on wheels! We invited few of our friends but soon realized that the list had grown to include around 20 adults and 14 kids (mostly toddlers). I panicked at little at the thought of keeping so many kids entertained indoors especially in case of bad weather. So, we went ahead and rented a Jump House and also arranged for indoor activities! Luckily, the weather remained good in spite of forecasts for rain. The Jump House turned out to be a big hit with all the kids and everyone had a great time. Soam cooked Mexican food for lunch though we did end up buying a lot of the side dishes. We got a lovely Lightning McQueen cake and made McQueen goody bags for the kids. It was great to see Virj having such a good time! You could tell he was enjoying all the attention. Watch his face during the cake cutting…looks like he knows it’s his party! Here are some moments from the day.
There are some really nice photos of the kids in the Jump House that are available on Flickr.
